Break Bread, Inc. is a community-centered nonprofit organization committed to walking alongside individuals and families in urban communities through a hands-on, holistic transformation model. Rooted in presence, dignity, and relationship, we believe lasting change happens when people are supported as whole individuals and empowered to build strong, resilient communities from the inside out.
Founded through lived experience and deep community engagement, Break Bread was created to address more than immediate needs. While food insecurity was an early entry point, the heart of the organization has always been connection, stability, exposure, and belonging. We exist to meet people where they are and walk with them through a supported process that addresses mental, emotional, spiritual, educational, and economic well-being.
Our work is grounded in trust-building and consistent presence. Through comprehensive assessment and guided support, we help individuals and families identify needs, set goals, and access resources necessary to move toward stability and growth. As lives are strengthened and families are supported, communities are revitalized, and those who experience transformation become living examples of what is possible—creating a blueprint that inspires and strengthens others.
What began as a grassroots effort rooted in service and fellowship has grown into an organized model of community investment focused on long-term and generational impact. Today, Break Bread continues to expand its initiatives with a growing focus on holistic support, housing solutions, and sustainable pathways that allow individuals, families, and communities to heal, grow, and thrive together.
At its core, Break Bread is about more than services—it is about restoring dignity, reclaiming community, and creating environments where everyone has a place at the table.
